A method for producing a high strength steel.
The method of claim 7, wherein the manganese content is between 1% and 2%. The method of claim 2, wherein the heat treatment is quenching. The method of claim 16, wherein the steel is produced in a continuous casting process. The method of claim 8, wherein the steel is rolled after heat treatment. The method of claim 1, wherein the steel is subjected to heat treatment. The method of claim 19, wherein the surface hardening is done by carburizing. The method of claim 18, wherein the steel is subjected to surface hardening. The method of claim 17, wherein the continuous casting is done in a vacuum. The method of claim 20, wherein the carburizing is done at a temperature of 900°C. The method of claim 6, wherein the steel is alloyed with manganese. The method of claim 14, wherein the steel is suitable for construction applications. The method of claim 11, wherein the final product has a yield strength of at least 800 MPa. The method of claim 15, wherein the steel is suitable for aerospace applications. The method of claim 3, wherein the quenching is done in oil.
